Behaviour Consultations

Behaviour consultations are suitable for puppies and dogs experiencing big feelings and complex behaviour challenges.

These consultations will assist you in developing safe management strategies and offer guidance and support to help you and your dog navigate these issues together.

After meeting with you and your dog, we will develop a training plan that suits their needs. In some cases, certain behaviours may require a referral to a veterinarian or veterinary behaviour specialist. I am always happy to collaborate with your vet to ensure a comprehensive and holistic approach to your dog’s care.

Working with complex behaviours takes time and requires expertise and plenty of support. But rest assured. I am here to help.

Assistance Dog Training & Support

mindDog is a not-for-profit organisation that assists humans experiencing mental health concerns, disability, and neurodivergent folks in training and accrediting their (psychiatric) assistance dogs.

A mindDog team is a collaborative alliance and a mutually safe and supportive connection is paramount. mindDogs can be trained to perform a variety of physical assistive tasks. These may include turning on lights or reminding handlers to take their medication. They also engage in various intuitive, adaptive behaviours, such as grounding techniques and initiating interpersonal interaction with others to assist their handlers.

I provide training and support for mindDog teams, recognising that each team is distinct and individual needs will differ significantly. We will establish a tailored training plan that equips you with the necessary skills and experience to meet the Public Access Test (PAT) requirements and attain accreditation. The frequency of our sessions will be determined based on your specific training and support needs and mindDog recommendations.

Leveraging my professional and lived experience, I strive to provide teams with a safe and supportive service. I embrace a neuro-affirming approach and remain dedicated to continuously expanding my knowledge and skills in trauma-sensitive care.
